Please click on the link shown below and view the plays in the video. These are great examples of intentional and flagrant fouls. I would strongly suggest that you share this information with your board members as the season in currently in full swing. These plays did not take place in IAABO territory.

Flagrant foul no-calls Highland @ Connell 12/22/11 – YouTube

RULE 4, SECTION 19, ART. 3, PAGE 31
An intentional foul is a personal or technical (dead-ball) foul that may or may not be premeditated and is not based solely on the severity of the act. Intentional fouls include but not limited to:
a. Contact that neutralizes an opponent’s obvious advantageous position.
b. Contact away from the ball with an opponent who is clearly not involved with the play.
c. Contact that is not legitimate attempt to play the ball/player specifically designed to stop the clock or keep it from starting.
d. Excessive contact with an opponent while playing the ball.
e. Contact with a thrower-in as in 9-2-10 Penalty 4.
In viewing these plays the Crew has let more than one Intentional if not Flagrant foul go by. You be the judge. Coaches want these plays called correctly, even if it’s against their own players. Take care of the Basketball Players and get rid of your “Problem Child”.
Reminder: During a “live ball” you cannot rule these fouls as a Technical Foul.

IAABO # 134 is in the process of trying to solicit a partnership with New Balance. The New Balance representative has contacted me on numerous occasions to see what he could do to partnership.

In the midst of trying to work out this partnership we are trying to see how many officials are interested in being a part of wearing New Balance apparel. They are offering officials 30% off the retail prices. For example if the shoes cost $90.00 than we will pay around $65.00 and the sweats that cost $110.00 will cost us around $80.00 or $85.00.

We have invited the representative Mel who is the rep for New Balance to come out and take orders if we are willing to participate at the next business meeting. He has promised that the turnaround time would be around 7 business days.

I know our policy statements state that we must be appropriately dressed for games but since some school doesn’t have decent locker rooms so the Executive thought that this could be our uniform for arrival and departures from games.

Sincerely
Robert Alston
