IAABO Board #134 Unveils New Website
New format will enable members to better keep up with information
August 22, 2005

All information regarding the operation of Board #134 (MD) of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials will now be available via a redesigned Website.

While the URL remains the same, www.IAABO134.org, the look has been changed as part of the effort to better enable the Website to serve its members into the future.

"Basketball continues to grow in interest at all levels, be it college, high school, or even with recreation leagues," states Michael Walker, secretary of Board #134. "Our members serve all these levels, and they need to be able to keep up with information that will ensure they can do their job effectively."
Continues Walker, "With the growing use of the Internet in all types of service, it is only natural that we too make use of this medium as a communications tool. And this new Website will allow us to do just that."

College Sports Online, Inc., based in Forest, VA, designed the new Website and will maintain the content, in collaboration with IAABO Board #134. Rhudy Camper is the president of College Sports Online.

"College Sports Online is carving its niche with mid- and small-size colleges and associated conferences. One of our clients is Bowie State, located within the region served by Board #134," said Camper.

Camper continues, "When the opportunity presented itself to take on the task of redesigning Board #134's new site, we enthusiastically pursued it. It makes good sense, as it is a product that can be marketed to other similar organizations."

The Website will have items of interest to fans, such information regarding its annual Girl's Invitational Christmas Basketball Tournament, Special Events page, but its primary function will be to serve its members. To do that, updates regarding rules changes, interpretations, and general reviews will be posted. Recruiting new officials will be a focus also. Finally, general administrative items will be accessible by the membership. (The membership is encouraged to view the Site Layout page for a description of the Website format.)

IAABO Board #134 has been providing quality officiating services for over 50 years to high schools, colleges and recreational programs in the Maryland counties of Prince Georges, Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's, and Anne Arundel (south of Route 50).
